Elpida
Panourgia

    Elpida Panourgia, born in Athens, Greece in September 1989, is a graduate from the Department of Graphic Design in the Technological Institute (TEI) of Athens, specializing in animation and illustration. For three consecutive years (2007-2010), she was awarded an honorary scholarship from the Stare Scholarships Foundation (IKY) of Greece. She is, also, studying modern singing and acting. She has worked in the department of graphic design in National Television (former name "ERT"), in Diptyho, a publishing house, as a children's magazine illustrator and, also as a freelancer illustrator and graphic designer, since 2007.

    Even though she started as a graphic designer, without serious studies in animation (only some lessons in the Graphic Design department), animation is her life, love and passion. Practicing animation skills, watching animation and reading is her everyday life. In 2010 she completed her first 2d computer animation short film "The teammate". Recently in 2014, she completed her second short film "tIme", a 2d computer animation film that she has been working on for 3 years and a half.
   From September 2014, a dream is coming true for Elpida, as she has been successfully selected and awarded with an honorary scholarship from Bournemouth University in order to study animation at the MA Computer Animation course in Bournemouth University UK. 
    Her hope and goal for the future, is to work in the animation industry as an animation director and also continue directing and animating her own personal films, because she believes that she has a lot of stories yet to tell and she wants to share her personal truth through a means that she loves.
